The first four modules of the TESOL Core Certificate Program (TCCP) finished on January 31, with 43 Core Trainers (CTs) completing the opening 40 hours of the course. The TCCP, developed by experts in the TESOL field, lets participants gain foundational knowledge in English Language Teaching (ELT) theory and practice, focus skills on teaching English language learners, and apply content learned through an in-person teaching practicum.

“This course helped me understand the importance of teaching culture and clarifying shared knowledge, shared views, and shared patterns,” said one course participant. Another said, “I am gaining a lot of knowledge and experience from other teachers, which can help my future teaching.”

Following feedback from course participants, the TCCP received high marks for providing concrete examples of student-centered techniques and methods for expanding participants’ classroom English teaching capabilities. “I enjoy learning from my trainer and with my group. Even as an online course, the sessions were very effective. Our trainer gave us clear instructions and always evaluated and motivated us in every task.” CTs will resume the remaining modules of the TCCP in March, followed by their teaching practicum.
