Kendra Staley is originally from Ellsworth, Kansas, USA. She earned her MA in TESOL from the University of Washington, Seattle and a BA in English literature from Kansas State University. Prior to joining the English Speaking Nation: Coaches Program, she taught ESL/EFL in the U.S., Guatemala, China, Indonesia, Colombia, and Turkmenistan. She has been an English Language Fellow with the U.S. Department of State as well as an English Language Specialist conducting teacher-training abroad. She began teaching English because of her interest in cross-cultural understanding and has now been working in the field of TESOL for 15 years. Her teaching and research interests include teacher training, curriculum development, intercultural communications, and the use of social media in language acquisition. She has presented at international English-teaching conferences and TESOL numerous times as well as published articles in peer-reviewed journals and online newsletters about English language teaching and material development.
