Zamira Mahkamova got her bachelor’s degree in English from the Andijan State Pedagogical Institute of Languages. She has worked as an English teacher for 15 years. She began her career at Secondary School #24. Since 2010, she has been working at School #1. She has also worked as a trainer at this school. She conducted lessons, shared her knowledge with teachers, and changed methods during classes. She can say without a doubt that as a teacher-trainer she improved herself as well. Preparing lessons for skilled teachers demanded more responsibility than for pupils, and working on herself led to an improvement of her teaching skills. As a Regional Peer Mentor-Teacher, she is looking forward to learning new methods, improving her teaching skills, making new friends, meeting native English speakers, and getting useful lessons and methodological aid. She hopes this program can be helpful for her future career.
